U9 Softball Cricket v LMS (H) 1.45pm

Match Report

Miss Kilby's Team

Result: 257 - 242 L

St Hugh’s U9 team had a fantastic match against LMS, showing great teamwork and enthusiasm throughout. Albie impressed with the bat, scoring some excellent 4s, while Flo delivered an outstanding bowling performance that kept the opposition under pressure.
There was some brilliant running between the wickets, with some players standing out for their communication and quick decision-making, helping the team make the most of their scoring opportunities. Others contributed well in the field, doing a great job stopping the ball and limiting runs.

It was a really competitive game against LMS, and all the players should be proud of their effort and teamwork. Well done, St Hugh’s!

Miss Blee-Storey's Team

Result: L 266 - 284

St Hugh’s opted to field first with Val and Lucy bowling, the pair bowled well taking a wicket in the last over. Minster had some strong batters facing next, hitting hard and finding the boundary, the team adapted well and started backing each other up in the spaces and fielding well as a team.

Next into batting and the team communicated well, several pairs finding the boundary, unfortunately losing a few wickets throughout the innings, but a very competitive game with some great team work shown across the board. Well done everyone, a great game!

We finished on 273 for 5.

Red Team

Result: 322 - 271 W

The red team played their fixture on the astro this week and were keen to get started. St Hugh’s fielded first and it was great to see some excellent bowling and team work. They were quick with reactions and actively moved towards the ball to deny multiple runs. A total of 6 wickets were taken by Freddie, Lola, George and Tilly. At the end of 5 pairs Lincoln Minster had a total of 271.
Now was the turn of batting. Freddie and George got the team off to a super start scoring multiple 4’s and 6’s. It was great to see the clear communication from pairs on when to run and when to wait. Tilly and Alexandra both scored a 4 and multiple hits and runs were seen. Overall St Hugh’s ended their batting on 322.

A fantastic afternoon of cricket and great sportsmanship shown.
