Report
The U11 girls played host to Glebe on Wednesday. Despite the less than pleasant weather conditions, the whole squad were keen to get out on to the grass and play some great hockey. The match got off to a confident start, with excellent passing and running between the midfield and the wings. After the first quarter and many chances in front of goal, a brilliant run up the pitch saw Esme sprint into the D and slip a well-timed ball into the corner, scoring the first goal of the game. With lifted spirits, the girls dropped back to defend as Glebe went on the attack. Some fantastic tackling was observed and the home team worked hard to prevent Glebe from scoring. Unfortunately, a beautifully placed slip ball took an attacker past the keeper providing Glebe with the perfect opportunity to score. With the score line at 1-1, St Hugh's displayed excellent teamwork skills with fantastic running down the wings by Alice and Jasmine. The away team played extremely defensively and succeeded in keeping St Hugh's away from goal. The final result stood at 1-1.

Report
St Hugh’s hosted Glebe on a cold winter’s day. The girls started well bouncing back from their regional exploits 24 hours before. Each player had taken something from the previous day with communication a fundamental area to work on. The game was umpired by Director of Hockey from Oakham school James Bateman. St Hugh’s dominated the halves of the game creating many chances but struggling to finish. The eventual difference between the sides was just a single goal scored by Pippa in the first half. Final score 1-0 to St. Hugh’s.
