Uppingham Prep Schools Orchestra Day 2026
On Thursday 5th February, the orchestra attended Uppingham Prep School’s Orchestra Day - A day filled with brilliant music making and exciting repertoire.
Instrumentalists were led by some incredible musicians from Uppingham and formed an orchestra of some 200 pupils playing at once! The theme for the day was “Sonic Supernova”. Pupils performed a selection of pieces including Holst’s “The Planets”, Copland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man”, the “Mission: Impossible” Theme and “Fly Me To The Moon”, made famous by Frank Sinatra.
The pupils, as always, were a credit to the school and engaged with enthusiasm and musicality. A huge well done to all involved.
