Witham Hall U9 & U11 Invitational Cross Country (A)

Match Report

24 runners. Four categories. Plenty of St Hugh’s fighting spirit!

Our St Hugh’s Cross Country team took on the Witham Hall course in blazing sunshine and tough conditions, with all 24 runners showing fantastic determination from start to finish. Every runner gave their all and was a real credit to the school and themselves.

Our standout individual performance came from Hollie F (U11 Girls), who battled her way to an excellent 5th-place finish, earning a well-deserved medal.

The U11 Girls were also our top-performing team, with our four counters producing an impressive set of results: 5th Hollie, 12th Abi, 13th Cecily and 18th Bella.

A special mention must also go to Zachary and Phillipa, who both competed a year young in their respective races. Both made a fantastic contribution to their teams, finishing as counters, with Zachary taking 12th and Phillipa 14th.

Vinnie B (U11 Boys) narrowly missed out on a top-10 finish, leading the St Hugh’s contingent in the final race with a determined and committed performance.

A brilliant team effort from all 24 runners! The conditions certainly tested them, but they showed resilience, determination and plenty of St Hugh’s spirit throughout.

Next stop: Rutland Water on Friday! We look forward to another opportunity to test ourselves, embrace the challenge and see what the team can achieve.
