Da Vinci Decathlon 2026

A group of eight Year 7-8 St Hugh's Scholars travelled to Stowe School for the annual academic competition, the Da Vinci Decathlon. Pupils work as a team to complete tasks across ten disciplines: Maths, English and Science; the more unusual subjects of Cartography, Engineering, Ideation, Code-Breaking and Legacy; alongside the creative papers: Art & Poetry, and Drama.

The St Hugh's team did themselves proud, and came away with First Place in the Art & Poetry round, and Second Place finishes in both the Drama and Legacy tasks.

The Da Vinci Decathlon is a wonderful opportunity to take part in an international competition, first conceived in an Australian Grammar School.

Competing against some much bigger schools, it was wonderful to see our scholarship pathway pupils rise to an incredibly difficult challenge, and particularly to shine in the more creative disciplines.

Well done, everyone.
