U11 Highfields Football (A) 2.15pm Coaching Games
Match Report
Result:
‘A’ team - D
‘B’ team - L
We played two shortened matches (25 mins) against Highfields as there was only one pitch available. The first match ended in a 0-0 draw, (a result as rare as hen’s teeth in junior football!) but St Hugh’s were dominant throughout and should rightfully have scored a few goals. We looked superb with our passing and moving, and carved open multiple chances. A combination of an outstanding opposition keeper and a rather bobbly pitch conspired against us. At the other end of the pitch, our keeper, Beau, only touched the ball a handful of times.
The second game saw our ‘B’ team battle against their stronger players, as Highfields only had one team available. Many of our players showed great resilience to block and stymie their attacks, and it was a while before they managed to break our resistance. George G in goal pulled off some brave saves, and Charlie S looked strong and distributed the ball with authority. We created a few openings in their box but unfortunately did not manage to convert any of these chances.
