U11 Netball v Lincoln Minster (H) 2.15pm

Match Report

A Team: 15-7 W

What a final match for the A team!! The team played 5 aside against Lincoln Minster and they started strong. The ball moved seamlessly down the court giving Hetty and Flo shooting opportunities and between them they scored 6 goals. Willow and Annabelle were strong in defence and turned multiple balls. After a rotation of positions Anna took to the centre position bringing calmness and forward options to the ball. The girls continued to push on with their shooting (attacking players; Verity, Charlotte and Anna) and by half time the score was 9-5 to St Hugh’s. The third quarter saw an influx of goals being scored by Annabelle and Harriet. It was great to see the teamwork, accuracy of shots and rebounds. Charlotte had a formidable defensive record and was denying Lincoln Minster from pushing on with their goals. Going into the final quarter the girls were full of energy, comradery and support for each other. The final score ended 15-7 W to St Hugh’s. The improvement and progress the team has made this season has been fantastic and we are proud of the girls! Harriet has captained the team well and we wish all our Y6 players the best of luck next season as they move into U13’s. Congratulations to Hetty for being chosen as opposition's player of the match.

B Team: 7-2 W

The U11B team had a fantastic final match against LMS, finishing the season on a real high. In the spirit of development and teamwork, players rotated positions throughout the game so that everyone had the opportunity to experience different areas of the court. This is incredible to see and really highlights how versatile and adaptable the team has become.
There were some excellent individual performances across the court. Olivia made lots of important interceptions, reading the game brilliantly and turning over possession for the team on several occasions. Holly took some lovely shots, showing great composure in the circle and converting some well-worked team play into goals. Maddie played a pivotal role down the court, working tirelessly to link defence and attack and keep the team moving forward.
Bella also had an overall good game, contributing well to the team effort and working hard in her positions.
It was a very positive final match, and it has been wonderful to see how much the team has improved, not only in their skills but also in their teamwork, versatility, and understanding of the game. Well done to all the U11B players on a fantastic team performance.
