Result: Won by 5 wickets
Euan won the toss and asked William Farr to bat. He may have been regretting that as William Farr got off to a very fast start and had 38-0 after only 4 overs! A change of bowling brought a wicket with Rory S bowling one opener and then Euan P having the other well caught by Toby. Rory P bowled a very impressive spell of 4 overs for only 5 runs, Euan picked up 2 for 9 in his 4 overs and Charles B had the impressive figures of 3 overs 4 wickets for only 10 runs, he also had two run outs. William Farr finished on 99-9 after 20 overs.
In reply we started cautiously, making sure we didn’t lose too many early wickets. Rory S batted very well for 16 and Euan batted very solidly. The required rate crept up to 6 an over but we ran very well between the wickets, picking up a lot of byes and leg byes. Josh N scored some valuable runs meaning 9 was required off the last over. Charles hit the first ball for 4 but was bowled off the second meaning 5 was needed off the last 4 balls. Toby arrived at the wicket and promptly hit his first ball for 6 leading to mass celebrations! Well done to the team who are now in the county U12 final.
