Match Report

Result - W150-1 85 all out

We welcomed Louth Grammar School  to St Hugh’s as the U13’s had their first home match of the season. Euan won the toss and chose to bat first with Josh N and Will L making a good start against some useful opening bowlers.  When Will was out LBW Toby arrived at the crease and set about hitting the ball very hard around the ground and soon retired on 38* Josh also retired on 22* as did Rory S and Euan. Jemima and Max added a few quick runs to bring us up to 150 for the loss of only 1 wicket.
After tea on the lawn we began our bowling in the best possible way with Charles getting a wicket first ball, well caught by Josh after a slight juggle!  Louth then scored quickly, reaching 70 for 1 before George picked up a wicket and Euan dismissed their main batsman, helped in no small part by an excellent catch from Charles.   Wickets then tumbled quickly with Sam picking up 2 and Josh N getting a Hat-trick with his first 3 balls. An excellent all-round performance.
