Result: St Hughs 137-4 Worksop 112 all out Won by 25 runs
A glorious day for cricket! Euan lost the toss and we were asked to bat first. The openers, Euan and Rory S batted really well, putting on 52 for the first wicket before Euan was first out for 15. Rory continued to dominate and retired on 52 not out (his first ever 50!) We continued to bat positively, against some quick bowling with Max, Josh N, Sam and Will L all adding useful runs. We finished on 137-4 after 20 overs.
After tea in ‘Hogwarts’ great hall we started really well with Euan taking a good catch in the first over off Will L’s bowling and Sam also picking up 2 quick wickets. Worksop had a very strong number 3 batsman who scored 50 and retired not out, however we managed to keep the scoring rate down. When the ‘spin twins’ of Rory and Euan came on to bowl the wickets began to fall again. Euan took 3 wickets and Rory 4, to complete a very good day for both of them.
I was impressed with the fielding on a very hard, fast outfield. Well done All!
