Match Report
A Won 2-0
The U13A team travelled to Oakham for a fixture against their U12As. Despite going into the fixture positively, the team looked jaded following the previous day at Ampleforth. The first half was 0-0 with us not firing on all cylinders and William C and Toby combining well to nullify any Oakham scoring opportunities. We opened the second period with more enthusiasm and after only 15 seconds Rupert scored from the left. We grew into the game and started to control the game more and played better as a team. However, it wasn’t until 20 seconds from the full time whistle that Charlie scored our second from an acute angle as the goalkeeper deflected the ball past his own post. Man of the match was awarded by the opposition to Captain Max.
B Won 4-7
Despite being two players down, we showed incredible determination and teamwork from start to finish. We had the pleasure of being joined by some talented players from Oakham who kindly stepped in to help our team, and their support was invaluable.
Rory was exceptional on the right wing, making some fantastic runs and delivering excellent crosses. One cross in particular stood out, as Noah made a brilliant strike at goal from it.
Other goals came from George, Jude, and Rory, each contributing to our well-rounded performance.
Overall, a great team effort all around. Well played, boys!
