Match Report

U13 Hardball - Result - Won 203-2 129-1

The U13B cricket team played their second hardball game of the term and acquitted themselves very well.

We fielded first against an inexperienced side.
Charlie conceded 1 run from his two overs which included a wicket maiden, so in effect -4 for 1.
Alicia conceded 4 runs and 2 extras but she had a maiden.
Rupert conceded 1 run and 6 byes.
Jude conceded no runs but 7 extras.
Edward conceded 4 runs and 2 extras.
Tabitha conceded 2 extras but got a maiden.
Kitty did a sterling job as wicket keeper for the first time.
Worksop set a target of 30 to win from our 12 overs.

Edward and Charlie were the first pair.  They scored 37 runs with Charlie hitting 6 fours.
Kitty and Alicia scored 26 runs and both girls hit a four.
Jude and Tabitha scored 21 for 1.  Tabitha hit a 4 and there was a run-out.
Rupert and Kitty were the final pair.  They scored 19 for 1.  Rupert hit a six and a four but was caught out on the final ball of the innings.

The final score was 203 for 2.

U13 Softball - Result - L 219-239

The softball team played 6 pairs against Worksop at home. After winning the toss the team opted to field first. We saw some great bowling from Megan and Gemma to open the first five overs. The team worked well together in fielding with good communication and built throughout the game getting used to covering the gaps with only 6 fielders. Worksop were strong in batting and kept finding the boundaries for fours. Finishing on 239.
St Hughs up to bat and Megan and Gemma worked well as a pair with good communication keeping the ones ticking over and both hitting fours. Lulu and Camilla hitting the ball well and also scoring lots of fours,  unfortunately communication caught them out several times losing 3 wickets and  being run out taking their score down.
Great game by the whole team with improvements throughout the field! Well done everyone! Opposition player Megan!
