Match Report

Result:  4-5 Defeat

We welcomed Lincoln Minster on Thursday afternoon for some Senior Tennis following a great session at Uppingham last week. St Hugh’s fielded three doubles pairs which included Fergus (captain), Joshua, Rupert, William C, Kitty and Jemima. It could not have been much warmer and the players did well to cope in the heat. The indoor court was therefore well received though it took a little getting used to. 
There was some fabulous tennis on display and it was great to see our pupils in action and playing well for one another. They played Fast4 Tennis which is a shortened version of the game when time is limited. After the first round, St Hugh’s were 2-1 down, with Rupert and William winning their match. The second round saw St Hugh’s dominate play coming out with three wins, taking the score to 4-2 St Hugh’s. Our final round saw LMS winning all three games resulting in a 5-4 defeat for the St Hugh’s team. A great afternoon of competitive tennis. Well done to all involved and thank you to those who came along to support.
