U9 Brooke Priory Athletics (A)

A group of Year 3/4 pupils competed at Brooke Priory’s Invitational Athletics Competition on Wednesday. This consisted of a girls team and boys team and saw every athlete competing in five events over the course of the afternoon. The event opened with a combined girls and boys team relay and St Hugh’s were pleased to place 3rd in this event. The children then broke off into groups ranked by ability to take part in their individual events including all three disciplines of run, jump and throw (Sprint, Middle Distance, Howler Throw, Standing Long Jump and Standing Triple Jump). Points were awarded on placings and it was great to see many of our pupils coming 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their respective competitions. More importantly, we witnessed pupils displaying elements of our pupil promise - showing respect for one another and the officials, being kind to their teammates and competitors and taking responsibility for themselves and their belongings as they moved around each event. Well done to all involved.
