Result: 4-0 W
After a delayed start and in wet conditions the Under 9 footballers put on a good display to dominate the game. Initially it took us a while to score, with many attempts going wide or tamely shot at the keeper. However, increased pressure told in the end. George P and Valentina C at last pressed home our advantage in the first half after some tenacious work. The second half saw better teamwork and passing from the team, with Freddie H slotting home after the move of the match. It involved several players combining passes beautifully from one side of the pitch to the other and opened up the opposition defence; a ‘proper’ goal. Unfortunately, Bertie in goal was largely redundant and in the latter stages of the match we swapped positions around a bit. Albie C, who had been imperious at the back all game, moved to midfield and bagged a deserved goal towards the end of the game. Well done 9s!
