Mavericks 1-3
Mavericks team got off to a good start using width on court to create space for movement towards the ball. Passing and moving well to attack down court, opened the opportunity for Tillie with a successful shot at goal!
Minster came back fighting would quick connections into the shooting circle. Great first fixture for the girls, keep up the hard work!
Lightning 3-0
Lightning team worked hard as a team in both attack and defensive. They started strong controlling the attack end but not quite managing to score, Lana turning lots of possession and providing the shooters with lots of opportunities. After a rotation and the team finding space, quick passing and movement in the circle saw Georgia gain opportunities at goal, scoring three goals to push the team to a win!! Well done everyone, great first fixture!!
Storm 3-2
The U9 girls from St Hugh’s School, playing as Storm, put on a fantastic performance against Lincoln Minster. The team showed excellent teamwork throughout the match, with strong intercepting, accurate passing and great marking of their opponents. Ottilie and Ophelia were outstanding in the shooting circle, showing confidence and accuracy, while Verity, Sienna and Olivia worked hard in defence to win the ball back and stop Lincoln Minster’s attacks. It was a brilliant team effort from Storm, with all the girls playing with energy, focus and determination.
Panthers 6-2
The St Hugh’s Panthers put on a brilliant performance, winning 6–2 with great teamwork and energy across the court. Eme was outstanding as a shooter, scoring confidently and also making a huge impact in defence with lots of well-timed interceptions. Nora and Charlotte worked hard to mark their players closely, putting constant pressure on the opposition and limiting their chances. Lola did a great job finding space on the court, helping to balance the play and keep the Panthers moving smoothly in attack. The whole team showed excellent communication on court, supporting each other throughout and playing as a strong side.
