U9 Netball v Ranby (A) 1.45pm
Match Report
Three U9 netball teams took part in a triangular netball fixture against Ranby School and Lincoln Minster School.
The navy team showed much improved communication and strong teamwork with Iona scoring a super goal against Ranby School. Halle and Lucy made lots of wonderful interceptions and Verity and Charlotte B showed improved catching alongside Nora and Sienna who found space on court and made effective passes. Great team effort, girls!
The Red team also played superbly against both Ranby and Lincoln Minster School. The team communicated well and rotated every quarter playing four different court positions. Eme and Lana linked well in attack against Lincoln Minster School, scoring five quick goals. Georgia was thrilled to score in the second game against Minster after several close attempts. Monaco and Ophelia worked well through the centre court, and Ottilie made some super interceptions. On the third court, St Hugh’s grew in confidence as the afternoon progressed and it was great to see them adapting so well to rotations as this can be quite a challenge at this stage! The player of this team went to Alexandra who showed super movement helping to transition the ball up court. There were also some great interceptions by Tilly, who snatched the ball on a number of occasions to win the turnover. Olivia S impressed with some great Stage 1 and 2 marking, something we worked on last week in training. Verity enjoyed taking some shots in the D but unfortunately did not convert them. Charlotte F became more adept at following her opposition player in an attempt to deny them time and space. Lola became better at changing direction in order to lose her player. A pleasing team effort on a cold afternoon!
Great to see every Y3 and 4 girl out once again representing the school so well. Well done!
