Result: 45 - 50 L (9 tries to 10)
Monday 6th October brought another contact fixture for our U9 boys. We welcomed Tranby to the hallowed turf of St Hugh’s for a great afternoon of rugby. We agreed to play four quarters to allow for some coaching input and team changes. Tranby came out strong with some great running scoring 3 quick tries. St Hugh’s responded just before the close of the quarter with 2 tries coming through Albie and Freddie. In the second quarter Tranby kept the ball well and capitalised with 4 more tries. St Hugh’s started looking after the ball better and moving it around the field to allow for Freddie to get his second try and Otto to also get across the line. In the third quarter things really started to come together for the St Hugh’s boys which enabled them to score 3 tries to Tranby’s 1. Our try scorers were Albie with another 2 and Otto for his second of the game. In the final St Hugh’s boys were playing some fantastic rugby as a team and they got 2 more tries through Freddie and Tranby matched this with 2 more of their own. All St Hugh’s players should be exceptionally proud of their efforts and the progress they have made in such a short space of time is absolute credit to their hard work.
