U9 Rugby v Witham (H) 2.00pm

Match Report

Result: L 2 tries - 7

We welcomed Witham Hall to St Hugh’s for the final contact rugby game of the season. The weather was definitely not on our side and did not stop raining all afternoon. This would be a real test of character for all the players. St Hugh’s won the toss and opted to start with the ball. St Hugh’s moved the ball well and found some space out wide. This provided St Hugh’s with a couple of tries in the first half coming through Freddie and Albie. Witham ran in a few tries themselves and it was proving a good contest. The second half both teams were feeling the weather and a few missed tackles saw Witham slide in for a few more scores. The development of the boys has been amazing, they have made outstanding progress from where they began in September. All players should be exceptionally proud of their achievements. Well done.
