U9 St Hugh’s Invitational Swimming Gala (H) 1.45pm

Please see downloads for TEAM SHEET. The programme will be uploaded by the end of the week. 

Please note -  in an attempt to involve a lot of keen swimmers, the majority of pupils will swim in intra-school races to give them experience. Spectators are very welcome to attend. Please wait in the Pavilion until a member of staff accompanies you to poolside once the children are out fo the changing rooms. Please wear the overshoes provided. All pupils will require an extra towel for poolside which will come home after the gala.

This week it was the U9’s opportunity to swim competitively for the school. With only one visiting school in attendance, we used this to our advantage and involved more pupils to give them exposure to competitive swimming. It was lovely to see so many children desperate to get involved!  

Hollie F captained the team which involved leading a land-based warm up which the squad enjoyed. The atmosphere on poolside was super, with an abundance of spectating parents who were treated to a great display of swimming at its best.

It was great to see our most accomplished swimmers winning the majority of races and applying what they have learned in swim squad training. For others, it was the determination that impressed me with every child striving to do their very best. 

A huge well done to all involved.
