U9 St Hugh’s Netball Festival (H) 2pm
Match Report
The weather has certainly not been kind to us in the opening weeks of the netball season! With unplayable outdoor courts we were unable to run our festival as planned but were delighted that the visiting schools were still keen to come over for an adapted festival indoors. It was a busy but fun afternoon with over 40 children actively involved.
With three smaller courts, we played 4 a side matches and despite not having our usual netball positions, the girls were able to play in six 10 minute games with adapted rules to suit the size of the court. After an hour of netball, I am pretty confident the girls were exhausted! They worked hard on court and it was great to see how teams progressed over the afternoon. There was lots of opportunity for every player to practice their attacking and defending skills and they were particularly pleased to all be able to shoot! All 7 teams had a rest game where they could watch.some superleague netball and see how the game is played at elite level.
A great afternoon of sport. Thank you to the St Hugh’s staff for adapting and allowing this festival to run.
