Y3 & Y4 Set Swim Gala (2.00-3.15pm)

It was a lovely atmosphere poolside for our second gala of the week on Wednesday afternoon. It was our Year 3 & 4 pupils who took to the water this time, swimming in two individual events each plus a team relay. There were some extremely competitive races, with all swimmers giving 100% for themselves and their set.

It was so rewarding to watch our swimmers compete and reflect back on the progress they have made since the start of the academic year. There were so many personal best performances beaten over the course of the afternoon. To go from being a non-swimmer to competing in two races over a length in two different strokes is also quite astonishing and goes to show what ‘challenge’ and ‘perseverance’ can lead to.

The gala opened with the 3x1 Individual Medley for both boys and girls. We had four finalists in each race, who had qualified earlier in the week for this event. Congratulations to our podium finishers!

Congratulations to Eme B who set a NEW school record! We have school records for both Swimming and Athletics, with many records being held for a good number of years.  It is always a privilege to see our pupils striving to achieve a school record and it is great to have some broken in 2025/26.

U9 Girls Butterfly - Eme B - 13.98s (2026)
This record was previously held by Lottie Fry since 2012 who swam 15.63s.
