Match Report

Pupils from St Hugh’s School travelled to the International Stadium in Bedford on Friday 5th June to compete in the NPSA Athletics Meet, which attracted over 50 schools from across the East Midlands. Conditions were ideal for athletics, with dry weather and no wind, allowing competitors to produce some excellent performances throughout the day.
In the U14 Girls events, Tabitha delivered a strong performance in the 75m hurdles, recording an impressive time of 15.0 seconds. She also competed in the shot put, achieving a distance of 5.99m.
For the U13 Girls, Genevieve C competed in two demanding track events. She completed the hurdles in 15.5 seconds before producing a determined run in the 800m, finishing in 2 minutes 55.4 seconds.
Lilian N represented the school in the U13 Girls 100m, crossing the line in 15.0 seconds. She also enjoyed success in the high jump, achieving a new personal best of 1.30m.
In the U12 Boys competition, Edward R showed excellent speed across two sprint events, running 11.2 seconds in the 75m and 23.0 seconds in the 150m.
Field events also brought strong performances from our year 8 boys. Sam H threw 8.52m in the U14 Boys shot put, while George C cleared 1.30m in the U14 Boys high jump.
With over 50 schools competing, the standard of competition was extremely high. All of our athletes represented the school with great determination and sportsmanship, producing a number of excellent performances and personal achievements. Congratulations to everyone who took part.
