Pippa’s Computing Challenge
Once again St Hugh's pupils from Year 2 upwards have taken part in the Bebras Computing Challenge, which introduces computational thinking to students. Over 112,000 UK students took part with pupils in the top 50% being awarded merit certificates and the top 25% distinctions. Two thirds of our pupils gained merits or distinctions with our overall average mark (77) exceeding the national average of 66.
Year 8 pupil, Pippa, not only qualified for the TCS Oxford Computing Challenge finals, which aim “to help talented computational thinkers develop by challenging them to solve tasks with programmed solutions”, but was also recognised as the top marked student in Lincolnshire despite being a year young. Well done Pippa.
