Ahoy!

Our Reception class children have been busy being pirates this term! In the classroom their learning has all been pirate-themed. They have practised their handwriting to write their own message in a bottle, drawn treasure maps, created wanted posters and designed hats.

In Forest School, Miss Reynolds has ensured the theme continues. She set them the task of walking the plank as they headed to the woods, and everyone displayed excellent teamwork as they worked together to find hidden booty! As all good pirates must literally learn the ropes, they were then set the challenge of untangling a series of knots. They proved to be persevering parrots and kept asking for more and more difficult knots to undo as they weren’t hard enough apparently! Everyone was very creative when it came to making their own pine cone pirate.

To complete their topic work the class celebrated with a fancy dress day.
