Boarding House News

Our weekly Boarding House Newsletter for the week commencing Monday 12th September...

“I cannot think of any better way to kick start this week’s newsletter than introducing our newly appointed House Captains. I am delighted to announce that Jenson and Peyia are this year’s House Captains. They are both clear role models and I am certain that they will excel in their new role and provide another support network for the pupils in house. Congratulations both!

Although the weather has been kinder to us this week, unfortunately Jubilee Park Playground was rained off on Monday. Instead, we went into the sports hall and played some invasion games; the pupils do love a bit of competitive sport! The rest of the week involved movie and games night and then the very competitive scavenger hunt around Woodhall Spa. Mrs Felton, Miss Fish and I were not prepared for the intense competition which involved non-stop running around the village trying to find the letters to unscramble the key word. It was great to see students outside the Boarding House taking part in an all-inclusive activity.

The atmosphere in the boarding house is lovely – definitely securing that home-from-home approach. We continue to grow as a community, all the time welcoming flexi boarders into our midst with open arms. The pupils have enjoyed spending time with our littlest boarder here at St Hugh’s; our son, Grayson.”
