Boarding House News - Week 10

Boarding Newsletter – Autumn Term, Week 10

Our weekly Boarding House Newsletter for the week commencing Monday 21st November...

This week went by quickly! I can't quite believe the term is over in just three weeks. The House has begun its seasonal rotation in anticipation of our Christmas decoration event on the fifth. With the help of the pupils, I am looking forward to finishing the house's decoration before singing Christmas carols and serving hot chocolate.

The typical English weather let us down on Monday night! Our outdoor movie night with a fire pit had to be moved indoors because it was pouring all afternoon. Lola, our family dog, met our boarders for the first time in person. She was in her element - I knew she would be happy to be cuddled up with the Boarders watching a movie!

The Christmas tree decorations that the Boarders created on Tuesday have been hung on one of the House Christmas trees. Wednesday's free time for boarders included a split session of basketball and gymnastics in the sports hall. After that, everyone had a well-earned night of relaxation, especially as the fixtures had returned later than usual.

We held our second pool party on Thursday night! This is a very well-liked activity that will continue to be offered once a term. The flamingo, unfortunately, did not make it. The boarders shared supper together before turning in for the night after the hockey and netball players returned home. This week's boarding came to an end on a lovely evening.

We have introduced a Boarding Council this year, with a representative from each year group. They meet with the Boarding Captains once a term to discuss their thoughts and perspectives. The Boarding Captains will continue from here and bring their notes to Mr Wyld and I for discussion.

I'm happy to introduce the Boarding Council representatives for the current Academic Year. Well done all!

  • Year 6 – Jemima S and Toby O
  • Year 7 – Angelina B and Wilf H-S
  • Year 8 – Henrietta P and Huxley S

I'm also happy to announce that Angelina B is our Recycling Ambassador and Sophie T is our Wellbeing Ambassador. On Monday, they will be given further information about their roles. Congratulations!
