Boarding Update - Week 2

We hope you all had a good week and are getting back into routine with school. The second week back at school has gone by quickly, and we had some great results in our first few matches on Wednesday afternoon.

Monday: On Monday the children went to the cooking classrooms and baked some cookies with Mrs. Cash-James and Mr. Pickering. Unfortunately there was none left for Miss Bingham, Mr McDonnell and Miss Hainsworth. We then spent the rest of the evening relaxing and chatting before bed.

Tuesday: Tuesday saw the boys and girls play netball in the sports hall, followed by some football rounders enjoyed by all. A few red faces amongst the crowd and a great evening getting the boys to play a sport they wouldn’t usually play.

Wednesday: On Wednesday the boarders did their usual chilling out after a busy day of fixtures, watching a film with Madame Clayton and Mr Jeffrey. After this Dion started up the Xbox and smashed a few rally stages on his racing game.

Thursday: On Thursday evening the children played card games in their boarding activity. The evening was also spent dancing on the Wii, with Ruby and Annabel tearing up the dance floor until bed time. This is definitely becoming more and more competitive up in the boarding house; however we’re still unsure who will come out on top.

Friday: Friday evening was spent with the boys heading down for some swimming in the pool, whilst the girls went for the more relaxed option and decided to chill in the boarding house with Miss Bingham. Georgina and Molly were very much into Moana, and perhaps asking one too many questions whilst the film was on…remember it’s not real girls! Ella then chose the evening movie and everyone sat down with supper and enjoyed Nanny McPhee before settling down for bed.

Congratulations to our star Boarder of the Week Ruby S for being exceedingly happy and helpful in the Boarding House.

Please remember that on Friday 26th January we break up at 3.30p.m for our first exeat of the term. We are very excited about our up and coming event to Crazee Bongos on Tuesday 6th February. Please get booked in as soon as you can by emailing boarding@st-hughs.lincs.sch.uk It is always a popular event and we have such a good time letting off steam there for a couple of hours.
