Brexit & Life as an MP

Last Friday we were delighted to welcome our local MP, Victoria Atkins to St Hugh’s. During her brief visit Year 7 pupils gave her a tour of the School and then she kindly hosted a Q&A session in the Library. Our pupils quizzed Mrs Atkins on a variety of subjects ranging from Brexit to the colour of the seats in the House of Commons! Pupils also expressed a real interest in the life of an MP and how young people can become more involved in politics. Mrs Atkins responded really thoroughly to all of the pupils' questions and she certainly inspired Year 7 to consider how they can be more politically conscious, especially within the local community.
