Carnegie Medal Shadowing

On Tuesday 22nd March, nine pupils from Years 5, 6 and 7 travelled to Uppingham to take part in their annual Carnegie Medal Shadowing event.

Since March, this group of keen readers have been working their way through this year's Carnegie Medal shortlist, recognising outstanding fiction for children and young people.

This event brought St Hugh's children together with Uppingham's own pupils to discuss their opinions and ideas about the shortlist. In the perfect setting of the school library, the children also took part in a quiz, delivered presentations on their favourite book and had a lively and engaging talk from visiting author, Michaela Morgan.

It was a fantastic afternoon and a great way to celebrate all the voracious reading the children have done over the last few weeks! Well done to all.
