Castle Rising Damp

We probably picked the wettest day of the year (so far) to have a look round Castle Rising and, though much of what we looked at was under cover, there was a substantial amount of our visit taking part outside. The children just got on with it though and tried to complete their questionnaires as best they could on increasingly sodden paper. Various features of the 12th century castle were looked at - for example, the Norman arches, murder holes above the doorway, the kitchens, the garderobes, and we also tested how long it took for a stone to drop to the foot of the well.
