Congratulations Thomas!

Congratulations must go to Thomas for his brilliant performance at the 2023 Disability Games of Rotary Club District 1070.

Competing at the Games on Sunday 16th April, Thomas put in a strong performance in the pool, swimming 50m in 57.2 s, but was beaten into second place a by a 14 year old swimmer from the Peterborough Special Olympics Squad. However, Thomas retained his Weightlifting title and improved his personal best by 5% on last year, lifting 62% of his body weight. He also triumphed in the Kurling event, participating completely independently and demonstrating a great improvement in his coordination skills.

This is a fantastic achievement which saw Thomas compete against participants from Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Southern and Central Lincolnshire and Western Cambridgeshire, and the city of Peterborough

Well done Thomas! The whole school will join in congratulating you at this week’s Achievers’ Assembly.
