County Cross Country Championships
We had five athletes competing at the Lincolnshire Schools Cross Country (Saturday 13th January) which included our captain, Florence L, alongside Charlotte T, Rupert B-W, Kitty W and Annabelle J.
All five of these runners earned their place at this event having qualified earlier in the term at our regional round.
This was held at Burghley Park in Stamford and saw athletes completing a tough course from 2300m to 3500m. The St Hugh’s pupils were running as individuals and for the Coastal and Wolds Zone. In order to qualify for the next level, runners needed to finish in the top 14 which was a challenging task given the large numbers. Each of our pupils worked tirelessly over the course and it was great to see them holding their own in some tough races.
Well done to all competitors for getting to this level and congratulations must go to Florence (4th), Charlotte (14th) and Rupert (14th) who will be representing Lincolnshire Schools at the Anglian Schools Cross Country on Saturday 3rd February. Florence also qualified for the English Schools’ Cross Country Championships in March, having finished top six. Well done and good luck!
