Cross Country Runners-up

It was a successful afternoon for St Hugh's on Tuesday with our Cross Country team finishing runners up to the hosts at the Annual Worksop Cross Country.  St Hugh's entered both girls and boys teams at U11 and U13 and it was a real team effort with every finisher contributing to our 2nd place position.  It was wonderful to see every runner giving their very best and earning points for the school.  Individually, we had the Mason sisters finishing in the top 5, receiving plaques in the presentation for their performances.  Esme crossed the line in a comfortable 3rd having stayed with the leading pack from the outset.  Bridie also started well and looked strong throughout the 2.5km course and finished in a pleasing 4th place.  Aurora also impressed in the U11 girls race and was delighted to achieve 7th place.  With Jasmine (17th) and Alice (18th) finishing as our third and fourth runner home for the U11 girls we knew we were in with a chance of placing.  St Hugh's were delighted to be placed 2nd in the U11 girls category!  Our other U13 girls put in a sterling effort, with Molly R second home for St Hugh's.  A great team effort led to the girls achieving 3rd place.  On the boys side, Henry B was first home in a pleasing 11th place.  The other team members crossed the line in close succession.  Charlie finished 20th as second St Hugh's boy home.  There was a super finish with the boys battling it out across the finish line.  Nathan was our first boy home in the U13 boys race after battling a tough 3.5km course.  Will, Isaac and Jake also showed tremendous fighting spirit throughout the race.  A good performance by St Hugh's.  Well done to all competitors and thank you to our dedicated parents for their support.
