High Sheriff Visit

We were honoured to receive a visit from the High Sheriff of Lincolnshire, Michael Scott.

After a year in post, his tenure came to an end in April and we are delighted he was able to able to finally visit us with the easing of lockdown restrictions.

The role of High Sheriff dates back to the 12th Century and is the oldest royal appointment still in existence. Those in post support the judiciary, emergency services and crime prevention, and in recent times the role has expanded into encouraging, supporting and thanking the voluntary sector.

Year 7 and 8 pupils were lucky enough to find out all about the High Sheriff’s role, its history and the impressive ceremonial uniform.

Thank you to Michael for taking the time to deliver his presentation to our students. With grandchildren, Hux, Annabel and Jemima, all students here at St Hugh’s, we hope they enjoy these photos of him here as High Sheriff!
