Lacrosse Champions

Last Friday St Hugh's hosted its second School Games event for the Coastal schools. We welcomed two teams from St Andrew's and a team each from Richmond and Toynton. The Pop Lacrosse tournament was run as a round robin festival with squads of no more than 8 players.

As the weather against us we made a decision to play both indoors and on our all-weather pitch, with each team having the opportunity to compete on both pitches.

There were some very competitive games during the afternoon and it was great to see so many goals being scored (78 in total!). It was St Hugh's and Richmond who dominated, with both of these teams winning all their games before playing each other on the final match! This game was therefore the decider and both teams showed great fighting spirit and determination. It was end to end but St Hugh's came out on top winning their last game 4-2.

Both St Hugh's and Richmond now go through to the Regional Finals on Tuesday 21st May, once again hosted by St Hugh's. The winner of this event qualifies for the National Pop Lacrosse Finals. We look forward to preparing for this over the forthcoming weeks.

Well done to all players.
