Sports Day Details

Sports Day will commence promptly at 10.00am on Saturday 29th June and all pupils from Nursery to Year 8 will compete in a minimum of three events.  The programme for the day, which includes Nursery - Senior events will be displayed in form roomsthis week for pupils to view.   Prep school pupils will be given an events card on the morning of sports day which outlines their individual events and assembly times.

Following on from the success of last year’s event, the whole school will be using the 400m track on the top field.   Cars will be parked along the length of the field and if you intend to park your car here, we ask that you do so between 8.30am - 9.45am after which the top field will be closed to all vehicles. There will be parking attendants onsite but please ensure children are supervised until 9.30am.  Nursery and Pre-Prep parents will have use of the sports hall car park and you are welcome to park here if you intend on leaving when the Pre-Prep events finish. All Prep school pupils are involved in the final relay at 3.00pm and are expected to stay for the presentations which will follow.

As in previous years, Prep school pupils will be free to join their parents throughout the day but it is their responsibility to report to their specific events at the assembly time.  It is assumed that all pupils will join their parents for a picnic lunch, however if this is not the case, please provide your child with a packed lunch.  There will be ice-cream on sale throughout the day.

In the interest of safety, can I please ask that spectators remain behind the roped areas at all times? There are throwing events taking place in the centre of the track, so it is imperative that this is clear.  A whistle will be blown when a throw is about to take place.

All pupils should arrive in their PE kit (white shorts, polo shirt and socks) and Nursery/Transition children should wear suitable clothing/footwear for running.  Prep school pupils will take their laundered kit home on Friday.  Sun hats are advised and water bottles are essential.  Please can I ask that all prep school pupils report to the Forbes Hall at 9.30am?   All Pre-Prep pupils should report to the white marquee no later than 10.30am and Nursery/Transition pupils no later than 10.00am.

Presentation times are clearly marked in the programme for each age group.   Nursery - Year 2 pupils will be taken to the podium by staff following the completion of their events and can then be signed out with Pre-Prep staff.  You are most welcome to stay onsite beyond the finish time if desired.  We look forward to welcoming you on Saturday 29th June.

Kind Regards
