Hockey

Result: Won 1, Drew 2, Lost 2

It is a long journey to Bakewell but it was good to play against some teams that we don't  normally play.

The games were only 10 minutes long so it was important to start strongly and score goals. Our first game was against St Anselm’s A team. Both teams had chances to score but it ended 0-0. We then played Ranby, who we had beaten at home earlier this term. Ranby scored early, Max then equalised with a great strike but Ranby then scored again. Despite a couple of good chances we couldn't quite equalise. We put up a great performance against a very strong Elms A team and narrowly lost 1-0. Our fourth game was against Repton B team, which finished 0-0 which was a little disappointing, although Joshua made a couple of good saves in goal. We finished 4th in our group and played Denstone Prep School to decide 7th and 8th place. We came away with a 1-0 win thanks to a well taken goal from Rory S. A good performance from all the team and with a little more luck in front of goal we could easily have finished in the top 4.

Netball

Result: 3 Wins, 2 Draws, 3 Losses

A mixed U11 team travelled to Bakewell to play in a 7-aside tournament. With not much practice as a team outside of Stinger rules. The whole team pulled together and grew throughout the day and saw lots of success.

They all work well as a team defensively, turning possession and becoming more confident in the shooting circle saw the team take some convincing wins over their opposition.

Well done everyone - you all listened to feedback and implemented that back into your game play which was fantastic to see, just missing out on 4th place and finishing a respectable 5th place!
