Annual Aquathlon

We saw another exciting event being held on Saturday morning with our annual Aquathlon taking place, now in its third year.  There was a total of 74 competitors, ranging from Years 2-6, from both St Hugh's and other local schools and it was a fabulous event to watch, with every child giving their very best.  This year we had all our Year 5 & 6 pupils tackling a six length swim followed by a 1km run.  We introduced a Set competition for the first time as an added incentive and it was great to see all abilities showing determination to finish this tough multi-sport event in as quick a time as possible. Our Year 3 & 4 pupils were also invited to enter and it was super to see so many children keen to take part.  This age group was required to complete a four length swim followed by a 500m run.  Finally our very youngest pupils in Year 2 were invited to come and experience a multi-sport event and it was super to see a number of our pupils taking on this challenge.  They swam two lengths and also ran 500m with a full transition in between.  The Year 2 event was not timed but we look forward to seeing them compete again next year as U9's!

Results have been displayed in School so pupils are able to see their times.  Well done to every competitor for showing great determination in this tough event!  Congratulations to the medallists below for finishing in the top three in their age category.
