U10 Team
Results:
- Bedford B - Draw 0-0
- Stamford B - Won 2-1
We played a couple of fixtures, starting against a strong looking Bedford side. We more than held our own against them, with Rory S marauding down the left wing and causing their strongest player a lot of problems. However, despite some excellent possession and passing, we rarely troubled their keeper; similarly, Bedford found it difficult to penetrate our resolute defence (of Ellis and Holden) and fearless goalie (Josh) .
In our second match versus Stamford we continued our excellent passing, with Sam H in midfield linking defence and attack beautifully. Rory bagged our first goal with a neat, sharp shot inside the near post. Stamford then made the most of slack marking and equalised soon afterwards. We were determined to achieve the positive result we deserved, and our winning goal came with a deft flick of the stick by Sam into the corner after an excellent run down the wing and pinpoint cross from Ellis. Well done boys - some brilliant hockey on view today.

Our first fixture was against Bedford. Instead of short corners we played penalty shuffles, where a player had 7 seconds to dribble and score against the goalkeeper, this added a lot of excitement to the game. It was a free flowing game with some good individual skill and teamwork on both sides. Both teams ended up missing their first penalty shuffles, with William C making his first appearance in goal making an excellent save. We earned a second penalty shuffle which Max managed to convert. The game finished 1-0.
Our second game was against Stamford. We dominated the match and had quite a few chances to score. Again, William C saved a penalty shuffle, before Toby scored one for us. Some excellent crosses from Euan almost led to a goal and then just before the end William L scored our second to give us a 2-0 win.
