The Year 5 Annual Trip to Leicester

Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic day in Leicester to consolidate their learning on Hinduism. They visited the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir (temple) and found out about the Guru Nilkant. They saw the shrines and Murti images of the Gods. Then we went on to the Golden mile to have lunch at a traditional Indian restaurant. The children were all really good at trying the new foods and after lunch we went to explore the shops. They were so excited to see all the different images, sights and to smell the incense burning in each shop. The girls loved the bangles and sari’s and secretly the boys did too. We ended the trip at the supermarket where the children brought bags of spices and saw some unusual vegetables. This is always a fantastic trip and they are always excited to come back and tell everyone about it.
