Future Schools

The choice of secondary school for all of our pupils is something into which we invest a lot of time.

Working closely with parents, the choice is broad and encompasses many options. A quick glance at our boards outside the Forbes Hall gives a snapshot of the various destination schools over the years, with many pupils also succeeding in gaining scholarships and exhibitions to an enviable range of secondary schools, including many famous Public Schools.

Be it for boarding or day, single-sex or co-educational, maintained or independent there is a school for every child.  Many of them have good reputations for different reasons and it is our responsibility to guide and support parents. We have excellent relationships with all of our destination schools and are dedicated to ensuring that every child in our care (and their parents) receives the best guidance. It can be a difficult process choosing a school and, as the admissions process varies from school to school, we are here to help and offer support.

We also have an enviable track record of securing places for our children who may have missed out on the 11+ for grammar school, with every child who has come to us at Year 6 for this purpose, passing their 13+ test.

At any point in your child’s education at St Hugh’s, you are very welcome to meet with our Headmaster, Mr Wyld, to discuss future schools.

The following list gives a flavour of the choice available and encompasses a very wide geographical area. To find out more about the individual schools that St Hugh’s pupils have gone to in recent years, please click on the name.
